ARCSSTK WSM [1]
Abstract:
The (ARCSSTK) did extensive research during 2009-2011 field seasons in Arctic Alaska. Specifically, the ARCSSTK goal Streams goal was to quantify the relative influences of thermokarst inputs on the biogeochemical structure and function of receiving streams. Whole Stream Metabolism was calculated using dissolved oxygen, discharge, stage, and temperature measured by sondes deployed in the field.

Methods:
Dissolved Oxygen, Conductivity, and Temperature values were recorded in the field with 600 OMS YSI Sondes. Data was loaded and sondes were recalibrated every one or two weeks. Dissolved Oxygen value calibrations were tracked and corrected at the end of the season.
I-Minus2 Data was organized and run by a program created in RStudio; Toolik River data was organized and run with an Excel spreadsheet, both created by W.B. Bowden.
Methods follow typical methods in whole stream metabolism. Bott, T. L. Primary Productivity and Community Respiration. Chapter 28 in SR Hauer GA Lamberti (Eds.), Methods in Stream Ecology, 2nd edition. Academic Press, Boston.
