Arthropod pitfall trap biomass captured (weekly) and pitfall biomass model predictions (daily) near Toolik Field Station, Alaska, summers 2012-2016.

Abstract:

This data set contains information about the per pitfall trap arthropod biomass captured (or modeled using GAM modelling approaches) near Toolik Field Station from 2012 to 2016 under  National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs ARC 0908444 (to Laura Gough), ARC 0908602 (to Natalie Boelman), and ARC 0909133 (to John Wingfield). It is associated with publication  DOI: 10.1111/jav.01712.

Methods:

Data represent the total arthropod biomass captured per pitfall cup over a 48 hour period divided by 2 to standardize to a 24 hour sampling window. For an extensive description of sampling, please see published work: DOI: 10.1111/jav.01712.  For details on how modeled variables were calculated, please see supplement 2. If supplement 2 is insufficient to answer your questions, please contact associated researcher Ashley Asmus (or secondarily Laura Gough) for questions on how model predictions were generated from measured data.
